Craig McGuire spent several years as a beat reporter and photographer on assignment encompassing all aspects of community journalism for this string of eight community weeklies covering various neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

During this period in his career, he was assigned to write on all aspects of Brooklyn community life — including news, features, crime blotters, and photography. From reporting on raging school board battles and covering violent crime scenes to interviewing beleaguered politicians and profiling quirky local personalities, this work captures many unique perspectives of one of the most vibrant collections of communities in the world.
