The Annual Brooklyn Pizza Eating Contest – Brooklyn, New York
Founder/Coordinator
Conceived and organized this annual charity event that involves event organization, sposporship recruitment, budgeting, resource management, and delivering presentations before key audiences throughout Brooklyn. The objective of this event is to raise donations to support mercyFirst, a child welfare agency that is the union of Angel Guardian and St. Mary’s Children and Family Services, serving more than 3,000 abused, neglected and troubled children at 27 locations throughout the New York Metropolitan area. The Annual Brooklyn Pizza Eating Contest is the only event of its kind in Brooklyn, the undisputed and world-renowned capital of Pizza. Currently in its third year, this event is staged during the annual Bay Ridge 5th Avenue Festival, at Rocco’s Pizzeria, located on 5th Avenue between 78th and 79th streets.

National Foundation for Training Entrepreneurship’s Annual Competition – New York City
Judge
Served as a panel member judge evaluating the business plans and presentations of young entrepreneurs for the National Foundation for Training Entrepreneurship. Business plan competitions are held in schools by the teachers with help from NFTE. Regional competitions are organized by the NFTE offices and program partners in an area. NFTE holds a national business plan competition for NFTE students each school year. Winning students receive a trip to the annual awards dinner in New York City and a grant to apply toward their business or college expenses. Managed logistics for the NY/NJ Systems Management User Group (SMUG), a joint venture between Microsoft and Gold Certified Partner The Henson Group focusing on supporting the Microsoft systems management community in the region. Microsoft User Groups are independently run, volunteer groups that meet in-person on a regular basis to discuss and share information on a variety of technical topics. The NY/NJ SMUG is focused on supporting the Microsoft systems management community in the region. Participation in a user group is an exciting, inexpensive way to receive the up-to-the-minute technical content, share notes from the field, and to meet with your peers to get more out of the Microsoft platforms, products, technologies, and resources upon which you depend.
